The collection consists of Abner Atkison's (Atkins) certificate of service as Revolutionary soldier under Elijah Clarke, dated October 15, 1784 and certified by Clarke, September 6, 1785. Also included is the will of Abner Atkison (Atkins), dated Hancock County, May 20, 1820, which leaves land and slaves to sons Cornelius, Lewis, and Elbert, daughters Sally Cook, Lusany Lundy, and granddaughter Lucy Cook. It is signed by Abner Atkison, executors Thomas Lundy and Starling Evans, and witnessed by George Collins, Spencer Watts, and Aquillia Evans.

The collection consists of papers of Rev. Ravaud K. Rodgers dating 1671-1879. The papers include a scrapbook containing clippings documenting Rodgers' ministerial career in New Jersey as well as autographs collected by Rodgers. The collection also consists of items, mainly correspondence, collected by Rodgers including several letters relating to the Revolutionary War, documents pertaining to the Schuyler family, and "A memorial of Rev. Ravaud K. Rodgers, D. D., [Re-printed by the Society's proceedings]." Of particular interest is a letter (dated July 17, 1776) describing the celebration at Fort Monmouth (N.J.) upon the declaration of independence.

The collection also contains several surveyor's maps of property held by the Butler family in Wilkes County (Ga.).

The collection consists of a requisition for salt, dated 20 October 1774 and signed by John Newdigate, Stephen Maddox, and Mordecai Sheftall (in frame); three issues of Georgia continental paper money ($4 and $5 Spanish milled and $5 Continental) for 1776 and 1777; late eighteenth century Masonic apron with hand-drawn illustrated cover belonging to Levi Sheftall, member of Solomon's Lodge, Savannah; newspaper account (Beaumont, Texas Journal, 3 March 1942) of three items and other Sheftall memorabilia and a Xerox of a biographical sketch of Cooper Sheftall. The Masonic apron is housed in the vault.

Series 1. Historical Manuscripts consists of manuscripts relating to Georgia history collected by Telamon Cuyler covering the period 1754-1905. The series includes correspondence; bonds; county records, particularly for Jones County (Ga.); court records; indentures; inventories; land grants; newspaper clippings; and official Georgia government records for the office of the Adjutant General, Comptroller General, Governor, and Treasurer from 1754-1905 (with gaps). Topics documented within the collection include the Georgia militia; the Revolutionary War; Indian affairs in Georgia during the 1830s (particularly treaties); shipping (1770s-1780s); and boundary disputes between Georgia and Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The series also contains administrative records and correspondence pertaining to the activities of the Confederate government and the Georgia military troops during the Civil War. These records include materials of Ira R. Foster (Georgia Quartermaster General), H. H. Waters (Executive Secretary, Dept. of Georgia), Henry C. Wayne (Georgia Adjutant General), and Jared I. Whitaker (Georgia Commissary General).
